rename with string as new argument ignores string offset

For all these rebols: REBOL/View 1.2.8.3.1 3-Aug-2002 (beta) REBOL/View 1.2.5.3.1 6-May-2002 (beta) REBOL/View 1.2.1.3.1 21-Jun-2001 REBOL/Link 1.0.2.3.1 25-Mar-2002 save %test-file "" rename %test-file (probe find "a-string" "r") This results in: %a-string being created. I was expecting: %ring Anton.

Hi Anton, A> save %test-file "" A> rename %test-file (probe find "a-string" "r") A> This results in: %a-string being created. A> I was expecting: %ring Me too, but this works until they fix it...or if they don't. save %test-file "" rename %test-file copy (probe find "a-string" "r") I'd send it to feedback. -- Gregg

Thanks Gregg, You can see from my original post that I've CC'd it to feedback. Unlike some emotional people on this list, this little bug hasn't stopped me from doing what I wanted to do. It was easy to work around. Anton.

Actually I find the people on this list to be very reasonable, good humoured, usually quite generous - sometimes to the extent of being overly accomodating. Regards, Brett. ----- Original Message ----- ...

If this is aimed at me, thank you. I do have emotions. Patrick

Hi Anton, A> You can see from my original post that I've CC'd it to feedback. Ahhh. Didn't look at that. Does that work for RT? I think Carl said they want their feeback form used so things are in a fixed format for them to deal with. --Gregg

I want to emphasize this point as well - because I was under the wrong impression myself - thinking either way was fine, until just yesterday. When I submitted my feedback online via the web page I got a very prompt (less than 24 hours) response. Use the WEB PAGE FEEDBACK form for excellent results! :-) Rod.
