Enhancement Request - Adding /skip refinement to 'find and 'select

 [1/4] from: al:bri:xtra at: 19-Sep-2000 21:52

'sort has the /skip refinement:
>> help sort
... REFINEMENTS: /skip -- Treat the series as records of fixed size. size -- Size of each record. (Type: integer) It would be very good if 'find and 'select had the same refinement. Then things like associative memory stores become significantly easier to write. Andrew Martin ICQ: 26227169 http://members.ncbi.com/AndrewMartin/ http://members.xoom.com/AndrewMartin/

I was about to recommend the same thing. It would definately simply many scripts I have wrote. --Ryan [Al--Bri--xtra--co--nz] wrote:

I know this isn't a democracy... ;-) but if it were, I'd enthusiastically second Andrew's proposed enhancement! -jn- [Al--Bri--xtra--co--nz] wrote:

Tell Feedback that you want this! I sent this request to Feedback on July 7, but I think they up the priority of enhancement requests if more people submit them. This feature would render most of the associative data structure conversation moot. We would still need for the hash! type to hash more than any-string! values. At least words, numbers and tuples should be hashed as well. Spread the word! Brian Hawley
