Requesters

 [1/2] from: cybarite::sympatico::ca at: 19-Jul-2001 7:58

I happened upon the date requester example in some script. I had not seen a date requester before but have need of it. request-date It is documented in easyvid.r tutorial fashion on my rebsite "cybarite" under "View Usage"/Requesters along with some others that I had not know how to use. And, of course, "help request-date" will give you some information on it but not if you don't think to enter that command. If you try the cybarite rebsite and encounter problems or find errors with the tutorials "View Usage" and "VID Usage", use the Contact icon to let me know.

There are number of prefab requestors built in, make use of helps' ability to find from a partial word e.g just type ? req For a list of requestors. Whenever I want to know if something has been done before I use help. Another feature of help that not everyone knows about is its ability to find types e.g ? tuple! will return all the tuples, in this case they are all the predefined colors. ? native! and ? function! ? datatype! can be useful too for memory jogging. Other useful tools built in which help exploring REBOL are extract and third. Block of VID styles probe extract system/view/vid/vid-styles 2 Quick list of system object probe extract third system 2 Cheers, Allen K
