rebol/view for beos
[1/12] from: tsummerfelt1:home at: 4-Sep-2000 12:34
is anybody else using this?
i would report some bugs, but the version on the web site has expired, i
thought i would wait to see if a new one was put up before sending any
reports.
so far i'm living with changing the date to beat the expirey :)
i've decided i'm going to write a full blown email program for beos using
rebol/view. none of the current email offerings are really any good.
i've been waiting for rebol/view for beos for a long time to do this...

Yup. I have been using it and have discovered no problems so far. I didn't
know about the expired thing. Since I have /View apps available on BeBits,
that affects the longevity of my apps.
I'll have to look into that.

I am trying to, but I'm unable due to some bugs in the current version of /
View for BeOS. I'm waiting for the next version.

All of them are network-related. Some of these bugs are present on /Core for
BeOS (can't handle a persistent connection) and others are /View only (can't
use network connections at all).

I think so. Hope people at RT are already aware and working on a fix.

i would think that if they're reading this list they'd be aware now :)

Hmmm. This vertical-text problem also happens on my Amiga.
Specifically, the first time I run a simple script like hello.r.
However, if I run the script again, it'll be fine - meaning this
problem can only happen to the first script I run after starting
REBOL. So, is this general to REBOL or specific to only certain
platforms?

RT have mentioned bugs in networking for BeOs, messages about this were
posted a few days after the BeOS xper became available.
But please don't assume RT have time to read everything in this list. If you
find a bug, submit it to feedback. (that's part of the agreement for using
the experimentals). It is the only way to make sure it has been noted.
Cheers,
Allen K

i've just recently re-subscribed to this list...

i submitted via feedback, the first bug i encountered (didn't run because it
expired)
as for `agreement' i downloaded the `experimental' version from a web page,
and i don't remember seeing any `agreement' on the web page...i suppose i
could have overlooked it in my eagerness to download it :)
