Yes, we use REBOL for our ordering system. While we extensively use PHP for other purposes, the secure order system is pure REBOL. --Ralph Ralph Roberts, CEO ALEXANDER BOOKS/ Creativity, Inc. 65 Macedonia Road Alexander, NC 28701 USA 800-472-0438 tollfree voice & fax U.S./Canada 828-255-8719 voice & fax worldwide http://abooks.com $5 Blowout special on Stan Veit's HISTORY OF THE PC http://1-b.net/historypc.html while quantities last!

Hi, I can only suggest (as I don't have any large system developer myself yet using rebol): - Rebol Express contact also Steve Shireman, he seems to use it in his company ... I hope Steve is still reading ally list posts :-) - someone (?) have reimplemented Danish military system apps in 6 months - done in rebol ... it was very nice story ... - Alexander Books - ordering based upon rebol & php combination? I just today started "possible rebol projects" on main rebol ml. Maybe you could repost your message there? -pekr-

[ If there was such a project, I would be glad to exchange informations with the author ! Just a joke ;-) I think you're talking about our project *CyberCAT* for the BELGIAN Armed Forces. FYI, we're working on converting the DHTML-Java GUI into /View. First part in production: within a month... chr== ]

Hello Tom, Maybe you should have a look at SWIS on my rebsite. I know the system is still in works but it shows possibilities of REBOL usage in building distributed computing(core of the system has just about 50Kb). Regards, Cyphre

I have just made a "Rebol VR" program, where user interacts with the window to rotate a Dilbert doll in 16 images. I will post it soon to "Anton" reb-site. Anton.

Hi All, Thanks to everyone who sent their submissions. Thanks to you I had enough good examples to sent to the writer from Technology Review. I will of course inform the Ally list if anything comes of this. As for the future, we are going to try and maintain a list of all active REBOL project and systems, so if you have something new, or even something old that we don't know about, please send us some information about it. Well thanks again, and good luck all. Yours truly, Tom Chang Eight, Inc. University Park at MIT 129 Franklin St. #211 Cambridge, MA 02139 (617) 494-5507 voice (617) 494-0985 fax Tom Y. Chang wrote:

Hi All, It's me again. I have some potentially good new for REBOL allies. A writer for the Technology Review has just contacted me because he's interested in writing a story about REBOL and lightweight distributed computing. For those of you who don't know, Technology Review is the monthly magazine put out by MIT. It's readership includes not only all MIT staff and alums, but also a large number of CTOs, CEOs, and other decision makers at tech companies both large and small. As such being featured in an article like this could be a real coup for us. Before he pitches the story to his editors though, he's asked for "two or three cases where REBOL is being used in an interesting way? It doesn't have to be something deployed by a Fortune 500 company -- just some cases uf use now which you think prefigure the future of lightweight distibuted computing?" So far I have one. As such, I need your help. If anyone out there in REBOL Land has built an interesting REBOL based system or application, I would very much like to hear from you ASAP. For those of you who work in large companies and have to deal with things like Promotion Limitations, Trademarks, and other "Use of Name" issues, please note that we WILL NOT publish or print any information about you, your company, or your project. Rather this information will simply be used to help convince the editors of Tech Review to approve a feature on REBOL. Then if the story is approved, and /if and only if/ you and your company signs off on it, is ther the possibility that any information about you and your organization be published. Well I appreciate all your help, and I look forward to hearing about all the great things everyone is working on. Also be sure to keep your eyes out in the next few weeks for a piece on REBOL by John Dovorak, and an article featuring Carl and REBOL in the Washington Post. Take care, and thanks in advance for all your help!
