AI class

 [1/3] from: rishi::picostar::com at: 2-Oct-2000 19:48

This is great. I convinced my ucsd cognitive science proffessor to let me use rebol instead of c. If I convert his libraries, he may even be interested in using it for the class (little does he know that most of his library functionality is built into rebol!). I think he is looking for alternatives to c since most people in cogsci do not have programming backgrounds and have trouble with details of c such as i/o. Prof would rather have students focusing on concepts of class rather than details of programming language. I really think rebol should attack educational market. If they don't, some other language will take hold (such as python). Also great that rebol manual was just released. Now I plan to study this language in detail... Rishi

Cool! When I have nothing better to do (ha, ha, ha) I'm hoping to convert to REBOL an expert system shell I wrote several years ago in Lisp. [rishi--picostar--com] wrote:

He's using c instead of Lisp (or Prolog) to teach AI???

They used to use lisp...but for some reason switched to c. Some of the examples he was showing on the board were in lisp...but I guess we are not using it. He had to write some c libraries to make up for stuff that was built into lisp. Rishi Rishi Previously, you ([joel--neely--fedex--com]) wrote:
