Hi Oldes, I had simmilar experience, I downloaded about 400Kb executable thinking that it is all I need to run Curl but that was just some kind of loader which wanted to download about 4MB beast (if I remember) !!! You can hardly find so much power in such little binary like Rebol is ;) regards, Cyphre

Nope. I downloaded it as well. Came to 30Mb of hard drive space :( But, the demo chess game was pretty cool, and quite strong - just not strong enough :) Note that curl is not to be confused with cURL. -- Graham Chiu

Hi all! The same is for me! My CURL installation dir is fairly large! And it seems more similar to a Java applet than an independent full-featured application like Rebol can do! -- Prendi GRATIS l'email universale che... risparmia: http://www.email.it/f Sponsor: Cambia le casse del tuo Pc! Sorry for sending some of you on a disappointing download goosechase. I was in a hurry, but probably should have added some as netiquette comments. I thought Curl was interesting as a comparative tool and one which could help highlight REBOL's virtues. On the surface seems to be offering some interesting stuff, but then there's all this heavy baggage etc. For example, how to make a simple Curl button: http://www.curl.com/html/developers/code.jsp?name=Button&path=samples%2FdynamicC ontent%2Fbuttons%2Fstart.curl compared to: view layout [button "vote rebol"] woof!! cURL is also very interesting as someone also mentioned: http://curl.haxx.se/ free openSource etc.. http://curl.haxx.se/docs/comparison-table.html and it is nice and small [300kb] http://curl.haxx.se/download.html cheers ./Jason ----- Original Message ----- From: <[riusa--email--it]> To: <[rebol-list--rebol--com]> Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 2:30 AM Subject: [REBOL] Re: Curl Hi all!
