ANN: Rebol/Arcadia beta public release

Hi all Rebolers, I'd like announce first public beta release of Rebol/Arcadia - the arcade game engine. If you want to try it just go to desktop/sites/cyphre/arcadia or do http://www.rebol.cz/~cyphre/arcadia.r For more info read carrefully notes on the title screen...I'm awaiting your comments ;-) Enjoy it! Cyphre NOTE: If you will encounter keyboard problems, make sure to set keyboard delay and rate in your system as fastest as possible.

After 3 minutes I still only have "please wait **" I'm on wireless DSL so that's not the problem.To many hits at the same time?

I get the same error Terry was getting. Needless to say I was too lazy to read the code to find out what was causing it ;-) James.

hmm, works for me here. Are you starting it from View desktop or just 'do-ing the URL in console? I started it from desktop and everything went OK. -pekr-

I got it the first time when running the resizeable version, but it ran okay the second time. -- Graham Chiu

Tried it from both the console and desktop modes. Same error. View version is: 1.2.1.3.1 (dated 21-Jun-2001). OS: Windows 2000 James.

Hi all, I tried it several times but without problems. The problem is probably that the downloaded images was either distorted during the transfer of some of them failed to download?? Anyway I'll look into it... If you have still problems with running it just delete whole view/public/www.sweb.cz/cyphre directory including all subdirs and try to run the game again. regards, Cyphre

I didn't get any error messages, but the images just wouldn't download. Tried from both the Console and Desktop. Had the feeling the connection was overloaded somewhere, so will try again tomorrow. -- Carl Read
