Project Management

Has anyone written project management software using rebol? I mean
something like Scitor PS with gantt and cpm charts, scheduling, etc.:

It seems to me that Rebol/View is the ideal language to write such a
program. The program could easily be international in scope. Data could
be updated in real time for all resources and tasks (by perhaps using
rugby---if I understand properly what rugby does). The program would be
small, and not take up excessive space on the hard drive. Messaging
between everyone on the project team would be a snap.
I am still just a rebol beginner even though I have been on this list for a
long time. I have many responsibilities that keep me from doing much
programming. But if I had the time, creating project management software
would be my project. Of course, what I am hoping is that someone has
already created such software, as I am needing it right now. :>)

I haven't seen anything like that, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there.
IOS and/or a Rugby based implementation, would be the perfect platform for
this kind of thing. If I had just a few more hours a day...

Thanks for the link. Always interested to see what is being peddled.
I have researched Project Management and am running what
I feel is a state of the art system using Rebol/IOS.
I feel sorry for companies like Sprint who are currently letting 3000 local
people go, and possibly the reason is that they did the project
management all wrong and in an "old fashioned" way in which
they managed to wrap themselves up in red tape.
Improving Effieciency (and productivity) by bringing computers into
a business has been an elusive golden fleece. I personally feel
Rebol/IOS delivers an extenisble platform from which to reach
this long sought goal.

Hi, not yet but it's on my todo list at top priority. The subject is broad,
starting with visualization up to tracking of changes, progress etc.

Well, my next step is to expand make-doc-pro with the possibility to describe
project plans and get a gantt chart in the document. My idea is to use
dialecting for storing project-management related information so that it can be
used by the documentation generator (of course make-doc-pro) to create the
needed documents and visualization. Robert
If someone is interested too and wants to work on this too, get in contact with
me. I'm going to push, manage and take the lead of it if there are some
contributors. Robert
