USB and/or IEEE 1394 (Firewire) ports

 [1/1] from: atruter::labyrinth::net::au at: 27-Feb-2003 12:47

Hi guys, <snip from Holger's response to Petr's question last April>
>> Is there an upcoming support for USB ports on some OS platforms?? > That is up to the operating system to provide. For instance on a > USB-enabled operating system a serial port, keyboard, mouse etc. > connected to USB behaves just like one that is directly attached > to the computer. Applications never directly support USB.
</snip> I know REBOL can access serial ports (Chapter 12 of http://www.rebol.com/docs/core25.html), but would it be possible to access USB and/or Firewire ports in a similar manner? Imagine the possibilities if REBOL can talk to digital cameras, etc. Regards, Ashley
