PLEASE REMOVE ME

 [1/13] from: john-harbaugh:earthlink at: 14-Nov-2003 21:26

I have un-subscribed from this list several times, and several times been told that I am no longer a member. I will keep sending this E-Mail until someone takes me off the list. [rebol-list--rebol--com] <[rebol-list--rebol--com]>

Hi John, j> I have un-subscribed from this list several times, and several j> times been told that I am no longer a member. j> I will keep sending this E-Mail until someone takes me off the list. Please don't. None of us here have any control over that. I know RT gets buried under lots of mail at times, but you might try contacting them directly about it. I don't think they monitor here too much, but they'll probably want to know if their list management software is mis-behaving. Has anyone else had trouble unsubscribing? That is, all those not here please raise your hands. :) -- Gregg

Hi, John. Here's what you need to do. Send an email to [rebol-request--rebol--com] with: unsubscribe as the subject. Alternatively, if you've got MS Outlook or MS Outlook Express as a email client, double-click on the line below: [rebol-request--rebol--com]?subject=unsubscribe and click the send button. Be aware that some emails may all ready on the way (they were sent before the server knew). Please make sure that you send this email from your email address: [john-harbaugh--earthlink--net] Otherwise the email server will think you're a malicious person trying to unsubscribe people, and won't take you off the list. I hope that helps! Andrew J Martin Speaking in tongues and performing miracles. ICQ: 26227169 http://www.rebol.it/Valley/ http://valley.orcon.net.nz/ http://Valley.150m.com/

Andrew: You, like the list moderator, are not listening. I am not stupid. I have done that 5 times, and 5 times received a notice that I have been removed. Yet, I am still getting the list. Dr. J. J. "One Eyed CrackerJack" Harbaugh

John: (I attempted to send a version of this email earlier and it got swallowed by the system. Something definitely is not right at the other end)

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with this list, and that none of us ordinary lis members have been able to help. If the unsub command isn't working, then the next step in escalation is to try a feedback to REBOL.com. The URL is: http://www.rebol.com/feedback.html You could also try to set yourself to "vacation" that should at least stop the messages while the problem is resolved. Try this: to: [rebol-request--rebol--com] subject line: set REBOL vacation message: leave blank That should work -- it worked for me the other day (thanks to Gabriele for pointing me at that command)

No matter how annoying spam is, offering to become a spammer doesn't solve the problem, Sunanda.

Hi all, I unsubscribed John from the list, because the subject has become annoying for me. I doubt, that John seriously tried to unsubscribe. I unsubscribed him with a very simple Rebol script, but I am not sure, if I should post it here. Anyway, [john-harbaugh--earthlink--net] is no longer present as I checked with Ecartis. -Ladislav

LM> I unsubscribed John from the list... Thank you *very* much Ladislav. I'm sure John would thank you too, if he were here. :) --Gregg

his list flooding and personal mail to me (without answering my question) didn't give me much of a choice, although I didn't double-check, whether it was really him. I hope you don't know more than I do :-[ ah, what a relief! It looks, that it really was him O:-) -L

realisticaly Ladislad, the chances of someone knowing more than you do are pretty slim

Hi Ladislav, On Saturday, November 15, 2003, 4:30:58 PM, you wrote: LM> I doubt, that John seriously tried to unsubscribe. Indeed; there's no reason why Ecartis wouldn't have worked, except for a broken mail client. OTOH, Ecartis is full of bugs, so you never know. Better not posting it, it's easy to figure out anyway, and if you can't figure it out it's probably better that you don't know how to do it. ;-) Regards, Gabriele. -- Gabriele Santilli <[g--santilli--tiscalinet--it]> -- REBOL Programmer Amiga Group Italia sez.
