[EMAIL] SMPT authentication

 [1/2] from: alberto:origen:mx at: 30-Oct-2006 14:33

Hi all Sorry if this post sound a bit naive. I know nothing about SMTP. I'm in a place where there's not a SMPT server, so I'm setup rebol/view to use an external SMTP which needs authentication. Now I'm sending mail without problem. The question is, EXIST A WAY TO KNOW IF I'M SENDING THE AUTHENTICATION INFO IN PLAIN TEXT? I suspect the SMTP server doesn't suport cram-md5... If the authentication info are traveling in plain text I think could be very dangerous... Thanks -- alberto

Alberto Try this first trace/net on and see what authentication mechanism is being used. But I think plain text is not recognised. On 10/31/06, alberto <alberto-origen.com.mx> wrote:
