Looks like my message was in the twilight zone for a few days - the headers suggest it was held up at reboltech for 4 days or so :( -- Graham Chiu

How long after you posted did it appear on escribe Graham? ... http://www.escribe.com/internet/rebol/index.html It's weird, but they can appear there a lot quicker than they get back to you sometimes. The respose time is certainly not like it used to be... -- Carl Read

I think it was also a couple of days, but the holdup was at Reboltech.

this seems like a great jabber client. is anybody willing (and able) to translate the French into English? I've kind of learned what the menus do by trial and error. Maybe I should just leave it and let my friends be impressed that I know French. It would be great if the strings were externalized so that it can be used in any language (depending on which language file you have). If the author is willing, it would be cool to get this posted to jabber.org as well, as this client compares favorably with others listed there and it can add to the small list of platform independent clients.

Can you create a Jabber account (of id or whatever they're called) with Maoww? All I found in it was an option to enter an id and password. -- Carl Read

I'll give it a shot..

Yes just check the box "[creer un nouveau compte]" == "[create a new account]" It's on the bottom left of login/connexion window. ./Jason

Many thanks in advance. I also wish I had learned French in high school. Louis

yes strange it is doing the same thing to me: error 401 I am testing it on my own jabberd also. I wonder if it is related to the password field. Perhaps missing one of those pesky rebol 'copy' statements. I had tested Maoww a couple of weeks ago and that was ok. So it seems a bug has crept in since. I'll try to contact Nicolas Fournier and or Oliver Auverlot about this. ./Jason

Thanks Jason, and for translating the docs and scripts. (: I managed to login once today, but since then it only seems to get to the "Receiving data" bit. I'm guessing this is because the jabber.org server is overloaded. Would that be common? More importantly, I noticed if you return to the login window, clicking on the password field and pressing any key puts the previous password back in the field. I doubt this is the desired behaviour. Perhaps someone should mention this to the original author. -- Carl Read

Update: Can get on now, and I think my previous problem was my fault for giving the wrong name or password, though it shouldn't just no nothing when you do that, right?

It still does that with the password though.
