Rebol IRC client, anyone?

 [1/5] from: bobr:dprc at: 13-Dec-2000 1:34

I had a working IRC client a bit back. I used it as an IRC avatar. A platform for doing things like notifying/paging me if it saw my name or favorite projects mentioned. kept the signal to noise ratio good. At 08:26 PM 12/12/00 -0800, you wrote:

Hey fellow Rebolers. I've been toying with the idea of creating an IRC client using REBOL, in /core (or possibly a high-end version in /view.) I am not new to programming by any means, but I am new to REBOL, and I was curious if anyone out there in rebol-land would be interested in helping out with this project. The reason I choose an IRC client is because a) REBOL is optimized for communications applications, and b) I'd like to be able to use one single client on all the operating systems I use (Win98, WinNT, BeOS R5, OpenLinux) w/o having to switch back and forth. This project is still in the planning stages, and everyone is welcome to help out and submit ideas. I can be contacted here, or on AIM under the name "Vache Uses AIM" Toodles, Seth

There's a guy that I met on Efnet that got me going with rebol that has been developing an IRC client. He already has a copy of an IRC bot and gave me a copy of it. He goes by Vein on efnet, talk to him he could probably help you out. TheTurtle

Hi, I have made a basic IRC client for both /Core and /View (both uses the same set of general routines, they just have another frontend). There's not too much user commands supported yet (but a lot of stuff sent from the IRC server is supported), but it is functioning. I still have to work on some subroutines before a release.. Check out http://www.algonet.se/~peoyli/RebIRC/ for a (really) old release. I will also upload a snapshot image of the /View version.. in about 10 minutes.. :) /PeO
