 [1/4] from: ronald::free::fr at: 20-Apr-2002 23:08

Hi Rebolers, I found a barcode reader (shematics to build one for educationnal purpose) that connects on game port Can I use/read the game port with REBOL ? Did somebody try to work (read and write) barcodes with REBOL ? Any ideas on how I could read data from such a device, excluding commercial hardware ? Cheers Ronald

Barcodes can be just fonts. A bar code reader normally simulates keyboard input. -- Graham Chiu

I used to write software for barcode printers, depending on the format delivered by the reader, you should be able to listen on a com port . Ronald Gruss wrote:

I used (commercial) serial readers (they work fine with REBOL), and wrote a function to create Code39 barcodes with PDF Maker.
