No outage on our end, but UUNet has had some problems on their Internet backbone since Thursday, which affects a good portion of the Internet in the continental US, as well as international sites with UUNet feeds. At REBOL we are only partially affected, because in addition to our T3 to UUNet we also have a redundant T3 to Cable&Wireless, which can pick up the load, i.e. we still have full connectivity. However, in situations like this, when a part of the Internet backbone has significant problems, there are usually side effects and ripple effects in routing tables that can cause intermittent problems all over the US. What we are seeing is that delivering each mail takes longer than usual, because a lot of mail servers we are trying to deliver to are not reachable, most likely due to backbone overload or routing problems. Hopefully this problem will correct itself when UUNet becomes fully operational again. -- Holger Kruse [kruse--nordicglobal--com]
