unpacking view1205042.gz on windows

 [1/4] from: antonr::iinet::net::au at: 8-May-2003 17:30

I just spent some time trying to figure out how I can unpack this linux view beta under windows: http://www.reboltech.com/downloads/view1205042.gz PowerArchiver 2002 8.10.00 was able to list successfully, but not extract. I had no luck with GZip124xN. The archive was linked to from this page: http://www.rebol.com/beta-versions.html Anyone know a program that can do it? Anton.

Hi Anton, On Thursday, May 8, 2003, 9:30:15 AM, you wrote: A> Anyone know a program that can do it? gzip (there are Windows versions), or WinRAR (didn't test with that specific file but it always worked for me). Total Commander will do it: http://www.ghisler.com/ (just tried to make sure). I use Total Commander for all ftp transfers and packing/unpacking of files. It handles almost any format: .gz, .bz, .bz2, .tar etc. I find it very useful, and I don't know what I'd do without it ... ~H Dixit Anton (09.30 08.05.2003):
