[REBOL]How to distinguish between rebol values (native, action, value)
[1/2] from: tim:johnsons-web at: 28-Nov-2000 17:47
Hello:
I'm curious here:
Consider the following rebol words:
parse
find
append.
Then invoke help for each of them.
For parse, rebol says that parse is a native value
For find, rebol says that find is an action value
For append, rebols says that append is a function value
To this ol' C-dog, they all act like functions to me, but
you see, I'm putting up an on-line class on programming
using rebol, and I could use some help on clearifying the
distinctions between native, action, and value.
Thanks
Tim

Hi Chaz:
> Where would I sign up for your online class, and how much?
I'm sorry to say that this class is exclusive to a school district in
Alaska and targets 9th and 10th graders. Very basic
programming 101.
I'm just the designer, neither an instructor nor in control
of any management decisions, but it is possible that
the exclusive status may change after a couple of
semesters of testing.
Frankly, I think the best way for an adult with some background
to learn rebol is to buy both Elan's and Ralph's books and make
use of this wonderful mailing list!

Tim
