[REBOL] multicast?

I got this code from another post and I can't seem to get it to work...
(multicast listener)
udp: open udp://:9999
set-modes udp [multicast-groups: [[224.0.1.89]]]
print copy udp
it fails on the set-modes line complaining...
Script Error: invalid argument 224.0.1.89
Where: do-boot
I am a beginner and probably lack the skills to troubleshoot this properly, anybody have
any idea what might be wrong?
Any references to any multicasting code would be awesome. It took me forever just to
find this snippet.
