sorry as it is a bit off-topic, but I found interesting article at
OSNews.com, describing how frame-buffer, shared-buffers, X-Windows
client server model etc. work and how to possibly speed-up some things.
I liked that article as even me (= no low level C guru) could understand
what is going on behind the scenes. There is also interesting discussion
following the article.
I wonder if some of more advanced (or better say direct drawing)
principles will be applied to Rebol one day, as IIRC Carl showed
interest into going some more media-oriented route .... We now at least
know that sound is becoming to be free and more advanced - let's hope
some View gfx operations are gonna be advanced too ...
