[REBOL] protecting word bug?

My code:

protect 'source
x: system/words
set in x 'source "changed"

** Script Error: Word source is protected, cannot modify
** Near: set in x 'source "changed"

Ok, but:

system/words/source: "changed"; == "changed"
probe system/words/source ; "changed"
