ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated ================================ Hi there, this is just to let you know, that I've updated some of the files related to Rebol/Flash dialect... I've fixed bug in converting integer to signed-bits and Signed fixed-point bit value in the swf-decompiler and add posibility to create buttons and color transformations in swf-compiler. All files are here: http://sweb.cz/r-mud/swf-lab/ Cheers Oldes

ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated ================================ Hi there, this is just to let you know, that I've updated some of the files related to Rebol/Flash dialect... The main thing is, that I can draw lines and curves in the shape tag now. I've uploaded also some new example scripts. The important thing is, that running the script in Rebol/View will cause a crash: (Expand series owerflow) so if you want to use it, you should use Rebol/Core! All files are here: http://sweb.cz/r-mud/swf-lab/ Cheers Oldes

ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated ================================ ... finally I've compressed all files (25) and uploaded them to other place: http://oldes.multimedia.cz/download/swf-lab.zip Oldes

good idea the compression and great work the dialect, I am amazed... Can you make a little help file too? I mean something like: - original Flash program (very simple, like a line and some text) - the steps to translate it - the resulting script Maybe it's due to my complete ignorance of Flash language but I cannot understand what's REBOL and what's Flash in your sample scripts. Have you got a link to learn the basics? Thank you Mario

ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated ================================ Hi there, this is just to let you know, that I've done some new improvements in my Rebol/Flash dialect. From now you can find most recent files and same of the examples at this page: http://sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/ cheers... Oldes

Re: ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated =================================== Hello Rebolers... this is just to let you know, that thanks to Gabriele Santilli's expression-parser script I've already include some simple expressions in the ActionScript compiler for my Rebol/Flash dialect... ... except that it's now possible to add actions to movie clip in the 'PlaceObject2 tag (SWF5 only) ... make gradients and rounded rectangles... hope the page http://www.sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/ is working now:-) there are the files to download: http://www.sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/make-swf.zip http://www.sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/examples.zip http://www.sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/exam-swf.r Cheers Oldes

Ah now I see the site. Looks good too! Impressive to see the code next to the working example. Well done Oldes. Brett

Hi, just had a perhaps stupid idea: How about adding a Flash emitter to make-doc-pro :-))? This would make it possible to create web-based presentations from make-doc-pro sources... as said perhaps just a stupid idea. Robert

Nice work Oldes!! The web page looks great too. --Gregg

Oldes - Great Work! Very enjoyable, I'll have to give it a bit of a whirl. While most of us will use REBOL to draw a lot of those things, it's awfully handy to have the capability to generate Flash files from REBOL. Using this on the server-side, it should be possible to dynamically generate graphs to serve up to web clients! Another tool in the REBOL toolbox. - Porter

ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated ================================ Hello there... I've updated the Rebol/Flash dialect again... Now it's possible to ControlFlow (Either and If now) and some other Action parser enhancements... What's important is that I've fixed terrible bug in the compiler that was causing to crash IE sometimes while moving mouse over a button. It was realy hard to find the reason, but now it should be OK. Because there is more and more examples I've set up new index page where are the examples sorted by modification date: http://sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/examples.html Cheers... Oldes PS: To Jason... your Verizon's email account is still somehow wrong: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- <[jasonic--cunliffe--verizon--net]> (reason: 550 Invalid recipient: <[jasonic--cunliffe--verizon--net]>) ----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... while talking to relay.verizon.net.:

ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated ================================ Hello there... I've updated the Rebol/Flash dialect again... Some bug fixes and a few new things... Check this example as well: http://sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/swf5-colortransform.html cheers... Oldes

Hi Oldes, I noticed your comment about Rebol/View 1.2.1 crashing and to use an older version. I'm guessing this is because of the DEBASE function. I've made a work around for debase - see below (watch line wrapping). Regards, Brett. if all [ equal? "View" first parse to-string system/product "/" find/match form system/version "1.2.1." ] [ debase: function [ {Converts a string from a different base representation to binary. Note: This is a patched version.} value [any-string!] "The string to convert" /base {Allow a selection of a different base for conversion} base-value [integer!] "The base to convert from: 64, 16, or 2" ] [tmp] [ if not base [base-value: system/options/binary-base] if not found? find [64 16 2] base-value [return none] tmp: either string? value [copy value] [to-string value] RETURN first load/all append insert tmp compose [(base-value) "#{"] } ] ]

ANN: Rebol/Flash dialect updated ================================ hi again... I fixed bug in the EITHER handling and added the SWITCH function (very useful thing I think - I don't know why there is nothing like this in the ActionScript:) the new SWITCH example you can find here: http://www.sweb.cz/oliva.david/swf/swf5-switch.html cheers... Oldes
