Browse/only

 [1/6] from: sunandadh::aol::com at: 21-Feb-2002 4:52

Hi all, The documentation says the /only refinement to 'browse means "Don't open a new window if possible". On my setup (Win 98, View/not Pro, tried various default browsers) I *always* get a new window. As a trivial example: loop 5 [browse/only what-dir] gets me five identical windows, and forever [browse/only what-dir] would be a one-line DOS attack. Any one any idea of setting up the conditions so Rebol will reuse an existing browser window? Thanks, Sunanda.

Try to check Explorer options, there is one wich say something like: "do not reuse windows" </SNIP> I tried this under View/Pro on Win95 with Opera . . . same results as you. Opera has a "Reuse existing window" option which did not make any difference. If a similar option in IE doesn't work it may be worth a note to feedback ;) Regards, Ashley

Thanks for the advice guys. I've tried heaps of things with several browsers, and also Win/ME. Always a new window. Maybe its a windows thing. I'll ask Feedback as Ashley suggests, Sunanda.

I did. They said:
>Yes, that's true. The Browse/only option is not functional at this time. > We have it on our "to be fixed list".

browse/only what's the rule?

Hi, under which circumstances does browse/only reuse the browser window? I would like to have the functionality that browse/only will start a new browser windows the first time and all further calls to browser reuse this window. -- Robert M.
