CGI security?

 [1/3] from: sharriff::aina::med-iq::de at: 22-Nov-2000 7:53

I read from the REBOL.com FAQ list that CGI scripts ca be runjust by putting the interpreter in the CGI-BIN directory or another directory designated to run scripts one does not have a CGI-BIN directory. Could this cause a security problem? if its as simple as that is there a need to tell a Web hosting service to install REBOL at all on the server? has anyone tried this out? Sharriff Aina

Hi Sharriff I use NetisNet (www.netisnet.co.uk) . I asked them if it was ok to copy Rebol/core to my cgi-bin directory and run Rebol scripts - they had no problems with that. It's best to choose a host that allows Telnet access to your web space - that way testing of Rebol scripts is a lot easier. Hope that helps Nigel
