I downloaded and installed Vanilla ... but there is a dearth of any documentation on it .. I checked Christian's site and it says that the "first steps" is being rewritten ... Any pointers? How to add new pages etc... -- Graham Chiu http://www.compkarori.com/cerebrus

Hi Graham, On Monday, March 31, 2003, 5:14:40 AM, you wrote: GC> Any pointers? How to add new pages etc... The quick and easy way to add a new page is to edit an existing page. For example, go to start, click edit and add somewhere to the page: Hello, just added a *new page*. Save it, and then you should see a [create new page] link, that lets you create the new page. This way of creating new snips might seem "strange" but is actually the best way to do it; Vanilla is a web of snips, and to reach a snip you need to have a link to it somewhere, so the first thing to do when you want to add a new page is to figure out where you want to add it. Another way to do it is to edit any page and the replace the snip name with a new name. Or, you can simply enter into the URL field of the browser vanilla.r?selector=new&snip=new+page to create "new page". gabriele already explained how to do that "the traditional way". in more recent vanilla's you have the "goto" box in the default template. that is the small textfield right above the calendar which serves quick snip access purposes. this box directly submits it's input as title-only search to vanilla's find (search) functionality. to come to the point: if you type in the name of the snip to be created there and find in turn does not find any snips, you'll be suggested to create the snip. another suggestion: you might want to join the vanilla mailing list. [vanilla-pudding--yahoogroups--com] as vanilla related stuff may be more on-topic there. -- Best regards, Andreas mailto:[andreas--bolka--gmx--net]
