RebMail and REEMACS and 1000 Killer Apps would all benefit from a component
architecture. Then components from one application could be plugged into the
other. New applications could be made from the components of other
applications.
For example, Plug-ins is a component which allows Plug-ins as described by
Carl on the RebMail list to plug into any Rebol application. Components is a
rebol module that grabs and runs components together much like Plug-ins do,
but less restricted. Site is a component which allows http reception and ftp
sending, allowing a web site (on a free server) to be generated from
messages. Message is a component that allows messages to sent and received
from news, email and so on. Edit, Help etc are all components that would fit
into 1000 Killer Apps, which allow editing of text or viewing of help files.

Huh, - what? The project is ongoing? I sent initial email to someone I don't
remember anyone we should sent our subscribtions request, but something probably
got wrong. Is there still possibility to subscribe to the list?

Also, - I would like to suggest you one Czech product. I know both general
director and product development director. My astronomy friends. Their
ControlWeb(TM) app is popular here, it's modula2 based, and it reminds me of
rebol/View. I saw demo yesterday at the show and it's very nice. The have
various components(plugins), with extensible intefaces, and it's like controlX
can influence controlY just like slider movement is reflected in list scroll.
There is much more to it. Timers etc stuff (= we have faces and it's 'rate
field). The have some native hw drivers though to control various apps. Well, we
have /Command, just don't have events with it as it lacks /View capabilities ;-)
