libtermcap?

 [1/4] from: chris:starforge:demon at: 29-Oct-2000 13:57

Hi, I've been trying to get Rebol working off my website, but when I try using it I get an internal server error and the following in the log: rebol: error while loading shared libraries: libtermcap.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory [Sun Oct 29 13:09:28 2000] [error] [client 195.11.11.227] Premature end of script headers: /home/httpd/starforge.co.uk/cgi-bin/webring.cgi ** CRASH (Should not happen) - Error 512 during start-up ... but the server admin tells me he has libtermcap.so and libtermcap.a on his system. He suggested recompiling Rebol on his system, but that's obviously not possible. Any suggestions? The server is running x86 linux, I've tried with both the libc5 and libc6 versions of 2.3 Any suggestions? AFAIK REBOL libc6 requires libtermcap.so to be a link to libncurses or something like that. I think this was fixed in the latest experimental releases... I'm sure there's someone on this list that can give you a better answer... Regards, Gabriele. -- Gabriele Santilli <[giesse--writeme--com]> - Amigan - REBOL programmer Amiga Group Italia sez. Looks like. After some protracted searching of the archives on rebol.org (please, please, please can someone write a better search engine forthe archives???) I found that I need something like: ibtermcap.so.2 -> /lib/libncurses.so.3.4

Probably about time really, termcap is obsolete on more or less all linux distros now. Shame the experimental timed out before the next release though :/ Chris -- New sig in the works Explorer2260 Designer and Coder http://www.starforge.co.uk

This is a pretty functional archive: http://www.escribe.com/internet/rebol/ It's actually more up-to-date than the rebol.org archive. --SNIP-- Looks like.
