URLs/Links in Makedoc
[1/3] from: tmoeller:fastmail:fm at: 12-Apr-2006 14:40
Hi,
i am playing around with the makedoc.r script for some generated
Dokumentation. In the docs ( at
http://www.rebol.net/docs/makedoc/md1.html)is mentioned that urls are
possible. I tried it with something like "=url test.html MyTEST" as
described, but no link is produced.
Has this feature been removed??? Is there a reason why it does not work
anymore???
Cheers
Thorsten

I haven't tried URLs within MakeDoc2.r yet, but one thing I have noticed is
that whitespace is very important when using MakeDoc. For example, the
following doesn't work (as expected):
*Bullet item 1
*Bullet item 2
It needs to be:
*Bullet item 1
*Bullet item 2
Is it possible that you aren't using the "correct" whitespace? This threw me
for multiple loops when first learning to use MakeDoc. Of course, now I
can't seem to live without it. I just wish that \notes and [indented] code
shared the same width -- but that's a minor issue.

Hi Jeff,
i am aware of the whitespace problems. I analysed the the 2.5.6 Version
of makedoc2 a little further. It lacks the emit url function and the
option =url.
At some time it must have been removed, because in the old makedoc docs
it is mentioned to be a new feature.
I searched ALTMe yesterday. There is a Makedoc section. There i found a
link to a modified version with url support i can use.
Thanks for your hint Jeff.
