Interesting. And me not being able to get to slashdot from here is
the cause of the script not working for me, so not the script's
problem at all. Tried a few times during the day, but never got
through...

Looks like those N.America systems are not fully recovered.

Ah.. this explains a lot.. All tested ebone.net routers are down. And ebone
(with its current owner Kpnqwest) is one of the biggest European wide systems.
