CGI

 [1/4] from: mike::prwebcast::com at: 11-Apr-2001 14:43

Hi, all. I'm trying to convice my ISP to allow me run Rebol CGI scripts. It seems that they're willing (see messages below), but I don't know what the next steps would be. Should I dowload the approprate Rebol/Core for them (MS IIS), or should I direct them to rebol.com and let them do it? Is there a page/file with documentation on how they need to configure things on their end? Any help is highly appreciated. Mike

Hi, Well, when I asked mersinet, I asked the person who does all the work with the servers and directed him to the download page. He installed it two minutes later! :) == All the best, -- Malcolm Campbell FreesiteUK - http://www.freesiteuk.com DVDBlokes.com - http://www.dvdblokes.com DVDForumz.com - http://www.dvdforumz.com

I like the fact that you inquired. Maybe we should make an attempt to make that effort more organized and develope a easy implementation package for ISP depending on the platform they use - after all Microsoft did the same thing when they started rolling out their products. Paul Tretter

Hi Mike, I respond to you directly, because REBOL mailing list strips binary attachments. I'd send them just the current rebol.exe unpacked from zip, along with this picture showing how to configure IIS 5. There is no need to install or configure REBOL, and rebol.r and user.r are unnecessary on a web server. All network configuration can be done by 'set-net function at the beginning of CGI script. hope this helps, -- Michal Kracik Mike Rozack wrote:
