Wow!

 [1/6] from: jon_saltzman::pitzer::edu at: 29-Oct-2001 16:52

Hello everyone! I am new to Rebol, and this is very impressive! I'm quite experienced in CGI, PHP, web/application dev, and I'm very interested in learning more and trying my hand at some development for Rebol. I have ordered the book "Rebol: The Official Guide" to get me started, but I was wondering if anyone had any particular places that have been very helpful.. I want to get rolling quickly and jump on! Congrats on such a great product to the Rebol team! -Jon Saltzman

Jon, Good to hear from you. Did you hear about Rebol from osnews or slashdot? Regards, Greg ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Saltzman" <[jon_saltzman--pitzer--edu]> To: <[rebol-list--rebol--com]> Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2001 11:52 AM Subject: [REBOL] Wow!

Ya, look at www.RebolForces.com there are a few other places around. Are you running Core, or View? If you are running View then open the desktop->REBOL.com-> Sites there is an extensive amount of stuff to be found there. Also look in REBOL.com -> Library for scripts submitted by this community. Enjoy!! Ammon PS You might take a look at (http://www.langreiter.com/space/RIDE+%28REBOL+Integrated-Internet+Developem ent+Environment%29 ) & remember one of REBOL's greatest strengths is that everything you write runs on 40+ platforms, without alterations. ;-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Saltzman" <[jon_saltzman--pitzer--edu]> To: <[rebol-list--rebol--com]> Sent: Monday, October 29, 2001 5:52 PM Subject: [REBOL] Wow!

Hi Jon Welcome to the list. Here's a blatant plug for my own site: http://www.codeconscious.com/rebol/ A companion rebsite accessible from Rebol/View is called "Code. C." has a number of scripts too. Only thing is I haven't updated it for a while and it is in dire need of a good polishing to fit in with Rebol's new public persona! If you navigate through to some of the "tips and techniques" you find something of interest. I put it together when I was doing some of my own rebol initiation. Hope it helps. Brett. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Saltzman" <[jon_saltzman--pitzer--edu]> To: <[rebol-list--rebol--com]> Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2001 11:52 AM Subject: [REBOL] Wow!

Hi Jon, << I was wondering if anyone had any particular places that have been very helpful..>> I just kind of jumped in. Between 'The Official Guide', 'REBOL for Dummies', REBOL Forces, Code Conscious, various Reb sites, and the script library, you can find things lot of different ways. This mailing list is also an invaluable resource. Enjoy REBOLing! --Gregg
