Virus from an [ALLY] list user.

 [1/8] from: carl:s:rebol at: 5-Nov-2002 16:59

Be on your toes if you have been a part of the REBOL Ally email list in the past. Someone on the ALLY list has been infected by a virus that is now using the email entries on that list to propagate itself. As I'm sure you know, DO NOT open email attachments that appear as if they came from the ALLY list. They did not. (You can also be on the safe side by not using MS Outlook to read your email, but of course you know that already too.) -Carl

Yes, isn't it amazing that people still use Outlook? Quickest way to get infected in a safe manner. You don't even have to click OK. ~H Dixit Carl at REBOL (01.59 06.11.2002):

One suggestion: have a look at Pegasus Mail: http://www.pmail.com Pegasus Mail is a free, standards-based electronic mail client suitable for use by single or multiple users on single computers or on local area networks. Sunanda.

I use Eudora (www.eudora.com), recently upgraded to version 5.2, and am totally happy! ~H Dixit pat665 (10.06 06.11.2002):

Whoops. I sent a note about this to the list here before I got a chance to see this message. My apologies folks. Alphabetically speaking, 'REBOL' isn't at the top of my reading list. :/ Sorry. --Charles

Salut pat665, Wednesday, November 06, 2002, 10:06:17 AM, vous avez écrit: p> Hi, p> I am using Outlook. What alternative do you suggest ? (I am using Windows 98 p> and Windows 2K) I'm using The Bat mail client, it warned me on an attached file containing Bugbear, telling me that the file was suspect (double extension) The Bat can be set to read the mails in text format only, alowing you to watch the html formatted version "under your own responsability" -- Cheers Ronald
