Rebol/plugin install issues - was Re: Wake up ;-)

Yes, it downloads a full rebol/view interpreter and attempts to install it as a plugin, however not sure were the loading and installing of the rebol/view interpreter failes... We need a few things to test when first installing the rebol/plugin. Don't understand yet what is failing in the install.... Any diagnostics or simple tests we can run , or files to inspect if we suspect a partially completed install or proxy failure or ????

The plugin will probably work on my home-PC running win-98 and IE-6, but the plugin fails on my work-PC - looks like a proxy related issue. (NOT SURE YET - just speculating). Unknowns: 1. Where does the plugin attempt to install? What directory? 2. How would I manually configure the plugin to use proxy, if required?

Normally plugins are installed in the "%windir%\downloaded program files" folder. But you can found it by going to the "Internet settings", In the "Temporary Internet files" group, click on "Parameters..." then on "Show objects..." and you are there. Here I see "Rebol/plugin Object" 564KB.

I have tried copying my "user.r" file to the folder the plugin use. It seems to work (email setting ok) but I don't have proxy !! WARNING this is not the previous one. It's : %temp%\REBOL\Plugin\IE\0.0.0.2 (copy/paste this line to an dress bar and you are there) DideC

Hi all, My name is Josh Mitts, and for those of you who don't already know me from the rebol-view world, I developed REBOL/Plugin (with Carl, who had to turn REBOL into a DLL..gotta keep him workin and out of trouble, you know... ;-)) For those of you that are having problems with the plugin *not* related to proxy settings (we are aware of that and will be implementing a solution to proxy issues soon), can you e-mail me directly at [rebol1--covenantbg--com]? I'd like to find out more about your specific system and troubleshoot from there. I've heard that one of the problems tends to happen on NT4. If there are others on different operating systems, can you let me know? Thanks! Josh Mitts
