Jabba

 [1/2] from: mat::eurogamer::net at: 18-Dec-2000 4:32

Hello, Anyone interested in a set of Jabba communication functions? If there was interest I could tidy up the bits I wrote for my IRC bot into something recyclable. It has the added benefit of providing ICQ and AIM messaging through Jabbas transports, of course. -- Mat Bettinson - EuroGamer's Gaming Evangelist with a Goatee http://www.eurogamer.net | http://www.eurogamer-network.com

Yes. Having looked up what it is, I would be :-) Originally conceived by Jeremie Miller to solve a problem of incompatible instant messaging (IM) clients and systems, Jabber has transcended its origins as an IM 'bridge' to become a generalised, open, extensible, XML messaging architecture that lends itself to solving all sorts of messaging and communication problems, especially in the semi-realtime and semi-connected problem spaces, and indeed opening up possibilities of building new systems based on its technologies and features. -- Graham Chiu
