Hi!
Does anyone know something new about the English translation of the french
Rebol book by Olivier Auverlot?

Only non-information, I'm afraid. Amazon and other sites still list it as
coming soon
, though the publicised publication date has past. A search on the
publisher's site found me nothing about the book.
Sounds a book worth having though, so I'm still on the lookout for a copy.

Walmart says 7/31/2003...
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?cat=28377&dept=3920&product_id=1939168
but going by past experiences of this book's publication date, it may
come and go without any book appearing.

Indeed. It'd be nice if it appears when the next non-beta versions of
View appears.

My understanding is that it is projected for the end of
this year.
Part of the delay, is also because Olivier is working on
the 2nd edition, and the translation will contain part of
that.

Amazon US is listing it as available in 12-14 days:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0470846755/ref%3Dpd_sl_aw_alx-je
b-7-1_book_2525462_1/104-2681713-3020759
It's described as:
A comprehensive guide to what is tipped to become the 'new Perl'.

Alas it won't be available then. Project was unfortunately delayed yet again
for various reasons, but now getting back on track.
Oliver Auverlot has written a lot of new material [150pages] for the 2nd
Edition of the Eyrolles book [French], so need to determine now how/if to
include that in the English version. It's important to get some new English
Rebol book out, but it also needs sufficiently to be up-to-date, else a
waste of everyones time and money.
I'll post here when there is some solid news, and meanwhile yes Wiley should
revise the release date posted on Amazon.

Sorry for the false alarm.
I'd spotted a Google Adword (now removed) for the book that took me to the
Amazon page. They were obviously been too optimistic.
By way of amends, here's something else I spotted: an article on REBOL by
Gregg who is described as "considered somewhat eccentric..."

Nice work, Gregg!

Thanks Sunanda! I didn't know it had gone public.
Happy Halloween to all you REBOLers who celebrate it!
