user prefs script..Where?

 [1/9] from: fergus4::bellatlantic::net at: 19-Mar-2006 19:27

I'm looking for the user prefs script for view but I can not find it on my drive. I know I've seen it before but I can no longer find it. Anyone know the name or location on the drive (Windows)?

Hi Alan, A> I'm looking for the user prefs script for view but I can not find it on my A> drive. I know I've seen it before but I can no longer find it. Anyone know A> the name or location on the drive (Windows)? The new installer puts things in a slightly different place (more correct). Look in: %/c/documents and settings/<username>/application data/rebol/ -- Gregg

How about: C:\Documents and Settings\<user-name>\Application Data\rebol

I've looked there but I do not seem to see the script. What is its exact name? I'm looking for the prefs script with the sliding input panels and not the prefs info file. Steven White wrote:

I am a bit of a newcomer myself. The only file I know of is in this directory, which I copied out of the address bar of windows explorer: C:\Documents and Settings\steve\Application Data\rebol and the file name is user.r. This is the file that gets upated when you use the "user" menu item on the REBOL/VIEW desktop. I know it is because I looked at the file with notepad, then changed a setting on the REBOL/VIEW desktop "user" menu item, the looked at user.r again with notepad, and saw that change. As far as any other internal workings of REBOL, I'm still trying to figure it out. OR...are you looking for a script that runs when you click the "user" menu item on the rebol viewtop, a script that displays the dialog where you enter the data that is stored in user.r file; a script that slides among the three areas for entering user name, email information, and proxy information? Of that I myself know nothing (but would like to--how do they do that sliding?).

Why do you not simply search for the file? It's named 'user.r', so just tell your windows to look for it ;-) -- If you use another OS, tell that, to find it ... regards, robert Alan Macleod wrote:

Hi Alan, I can't find a link to the latest Viewtop source download, just an old one. If there isn't one, we can probably post the relevant code (it comes with the SDK). Will check. -- Gregg
