Hi All,
seems someone should try to find Selma, whereever she is now, and hand
The List back over to her. Seeeelmaaaaaaaaaa where are you?
(For those not remembering selma, once upon the time the rebol mailing
list had been handled by a rebol script called selma, until she got
tired by the shear (how do you spell that?) volume of mail. She got
retired, and ecartis took over ... ever since then The List hasn't been
the same ... well, gone are the days, maybe I should try to dust off my
altme installatione ...)

I think we can agree that the ML has been very sick for the past month or
more.
But I'm not sure Altme is the answer......I've been regularly dropping
private messages on Altme to the person I *think* has some oversight of the ML.
Their last reply to me was 28-Nov (they said "thanx for the heads-up, I will
have a look").
Also tried Feedback to REBOL.com. No response there either.
Basically, it looks like the ML has been cut adrift and no one with any
responsibility for it is taking any action on the problem reports from the REBOL
community.
One bright spot is that Peter Wood is actively gathering information on what
the problem areas are.

It seems that there are four regularly occurring problems with the Mailing
List :
1. Some subscribers don't received any of the posts.
2. Some posts don't get distributed to the mailing lists.
3. Some messages are received by some subscribers but not others.
4. The receipt of some messages is greatly delayed to some subscribers
resulting in them receiving replies to posting before seeing the original
message.
A few subscribers and I have been systematically collecting data over the
last week. I think that we should have some reasonable data in about a week.
The purpose is to help RT identify and solve the problems with the Mailing
List.
I feel that the current status of the Mailing List is detrimental to REBOL
and hope that RT can quickly resolve the problems.
Regards
Peter
