[REBOL] why do I get an error here?

at the prompt, I can type in

>>read http://www.rebol.com/index.html

and get the error,

** Script Error: read-io expected port argument of type: port.
** Where: read-io port/sub-port data port/state/num

why do you suppose that started happening?
