Sounds like the direction that I´m trying to get into, I would appreciate
it , naturally if you´ve got the time, if you could explain the basic
steps I would need to take in controlling devices over the serial port on a
80x86 processor( hardware and software)

pretty easily. The REBOL e-mail stuff is pretty handy as is the serial port
(exp) control. The biggest problem I've had developing is is the silly
license expiration gaps on the experimental releases.
