[REBOL] Re: annotated shared system object?

Hi Romano and Jason,
I'd thought (dreamt) similarly Jason. Could be really useful for View too. I
sort of envisaged a compressed local resource available and updatable from
the command line for Core or for View via a popup. Update deltas sent via
email or by posting to a CGI. For bonus marks an ability to merge multiple
site "knowledge bases" into the active console help.
Might be as simple as:
system/options/home {The home directory.}
system/view/screen-face {The face object that represents the
window of the current REBOL instance.}
Or something a little more complex which could provide "equivalent to" and
see also
.
Such a informationbase could then be browsed in something like anamonitor so
that the current value and the comments/annotations are shown at the same
time.
Actually I feel something like this could be useful for script documentation
as well, by providing a glossary of terms.
For blue sky idea imagine a script editor that has a description of a word
when you move your cursor over it:
repeat person employees [ <-- Employees: "Array of employee records."
....
Romano thanks. I'm slowly converting 90% of the content for the site into a
new dialect so that I can add meta information and generate the whole thing
with some useable navigation. At the same time, I'm editing quite a bit of
the content to be a little more polished. I haven't fully settled on a
content dialect(s) yet. Formatted Document vs Structured Information issue.
I also plan to redesign the site because the navigation rollovers (cute but
ultimately purposeless idea of mine) bloat my site log.
Regards,
Brett.
