Hi, Tim,
This is totally off the top of my head (not to be confused with
out of my mind
;-) but how are your lines terminated? Some
protocols expect cf+lf termination and might interpret a run of
lines terminated with newline only as a single long line.
(The coincidence of ~20 lines of ~50 characters totalling ~1K
characters was irresistable...)
