From: rebol::techscribe::com at: 10-Sep-2003 15:04

Hi List. i o n . p e Release 1.1 has now been released and is available for download here: http://www.techscribe.com/download.html Many thanks go to Andrew Martin and Gabriele Santilli for testing and reporting bugs in several experimental releases that led up to this Release 1.1. Additional thanks and professional compliments go to Gabriele Santilli for pointing out a much simpler, more reliable, and faster method of communicating with the REBOL shell than utilized in Release 1.0, and supplying sample code for it. 1. News ----------------- a) i o n . p e now supports REBOL/Core, REBOL/View, REBOL/Command, and REBOL/Command/View. REBOL/ViewPro is the registerd and enhanced version of REBOL/View and is supported as REBOL/View (i.e. when you click the V button on the toolbar, then either REBOL/View or REBOL/ViewPro will be launched, depending on whether or not you registered REBOL/View with REBOL Technologies). b) A new File menu item, "Open Binary...", has been added. Use this menu item to open a binary file in the new Hex Editor view. c) You can now select multiple files to open when you use the File->Open menu item. d) A number of other small improvements and options are included (see Release Notes in the ReadMeFirst.txt file). e) Miscellaneous bugs have been fixed. 2. Description -------------- i o n . p e is a scriptable editor for the REBOL product line of interpreters released by REBOL Technologies, LLC. The current release supports the two free implementations of REBOL, REBOL/Core and REBOL/View, as well as the commercial versions distributed by REBOL Technologies under the names REBOL/Command and REBOL/ViewPro. Note that the REBOL version last released in September of 2002 under the name REBOL/Command/View is also supported. i o n . p e pursues two goals: (a) providing the REBOL programmer with a more convenient and immediate interaction with the REBOL shell of his choice right from within the editor; and (b) enabling the REBOL programmer to utilize his REBOL expertise to automate text processing and i o n . p e 's editor functions. This Release 1.1 continues to emphasize the first goal, i.e. improved interaction with REBOL. Download it here: http://www.techscribe.com/download.html Enjoy, Elan
