So, OK, If noone from RT will encourage you, I will try to. I used to react
the same way as you do. And I have to admit, that you are right in certain
areas - bug database, feedback (tech support), bug in docs, reported long
time ago, etc. etc.
And I will not change my mind, because I think that I have good arguments to
bring in some critique.
On the other hand, I worked 4 or more years for Amiga Review - so I like
giving questions and have everything answered. So, being present in Express
conference, I know some thigs, which are not secret. I will not reveal any
of them, but you should know, that RT is not sleeping. They are working on
major updte of their products. As you can see from their website, Express
1.0 is coming soon, whatever "soon" means :-) With new Express release,
hopefully Core and View get some updates too, as Express is product build
upon Rebol after all.
I expressed to RT marketing manager, that if Carl or Holger would find 10
mins and post some one or bi-monthly update, what is being worked on, it
would be very nice. Yes - we want to become community. But we need

, like Be Inc. and Amiga Inc. provide(d) to their
communities.
I can understand your position and frustration. I work as IT manager for
sales company - Moravia Steel, mother company of Trinec Iron and Steel
works. We are moving to SAP R3, we have more than 2000 clients of Lotus
Notes. I was leading team of 3ppl, which implemented the most open, coolest
system for sales department. It will be scrapped in favor of one part of SAP
modules. The worst thing is - noone cares about underlying sales precesses.
Software implementation became nasty business, and it hurts my heart. Who
will suffer - end user.
So, do you think I have easy position using Rebol for few tasks inside our
company? I don't. But I fight. We can hear it once and once again - why
Rebol, if there is php, perl, python. So ask your friends - why #C, if there
is Java? The truth is, however, that we can't succeed if RT fails. So, for
now, let RT work on their stuff. It is coming ... hopefully - soon enough ..
Hey Carl, what about 7.9.? I am 29 ;-)
