Thanks for the Sterling efforts ( sad pun here! ). In my WIP folder, I hacked Jeff's changes to the pop scheme to allocate the correct amount of memory for the buffer rather than guessing at 1024 bytes. Would you try that, and apply your patch as well, to see if it speeds it up a little more? -- Graham Chiu
