[REBOL] FreeBSD Released for V4 - Core, View, SDK, Cmd
From: carl::rebol::com at: 22-Oct-2003 8:46
Several people have mentioned in Feedback (yes, you see we do read it) that
our FreeBSD distributions were based on such old versions of BSD, that they
did run easily on newer versions of BSD. That has now been fixed. We just
released REBOL (all products) on FreeBSD V4.8.
Sorry about the delay. We often build REBOL on older versions of operating systems
to keep them as backward compatible as possible. For example, we build Redhat
Linux on V5.2 so it runs on OS versions 5, 6, 7, and 8. This is a tricky business, which
is why we built FreeBSD on V4 rather than V5.
So, anyway both FreeBSD and OpenBSD have been updated this summer. Tell all
your BSD friends about it. Thanks.
