[REBOL] [integration] [core] A big vote for REBOL/Core (was Re: Questions about the 'send' function)
From: luke:marmaladefoo at: 9-Aug-2004 12:05
Dear all
Are these kernel functions (call, send/attach etc) that are
more advanced in View going to be put back into Core? Or
is Core going to be "retired" (that would be such a real
shame). If the functions are going back in, when can we
expect to see an updated Core executable?
As I see it, from an interoperability perspective, there is
little point in having the two running on two different
versions of the basic kernel functions.
From my point of view, REBOL is great back-end/server
functionality - so I'm a big fan of REBOL/Core - but the
GUI side in View is still a long way from providing
sufficiently powerful, easy-to-integrate basic functionality
that is expected in usable GUI apps that can be easily
adopted by ordinary users (treeview, menus, listview,
quality HTML display etc).
Good luck to the REBOL/View project, but I'm sticking to
Core.
Please lets keep them in step!
Regards
- Luke
