[REBOL] view/vid newbie request...

I am writing some apps just to learn view/vid. My problem is, the styles are not very
well documented.
When I search the net, I find the docs provided by Rebol and then the "notes" provided
by sources such as RebolZine, and CodeConcious. Most of my specific questions can be
answered by the later sources. But, when I scan these examples they are using elements
that are not documented in Rebol anywhere (such as text-list/picked). Is there a complete
explination of the VID styles along with explinations as to why these work arounds are
needed?
