That is up to the operating system to provide. For instance on a
USB-enabled operating system a serial port, keyboard, mouse etc.
connected to USB behaves just like one that is directly attached
to the computer. Applications never directly support USB.

On our list, but not with a very high priority right now.
Unless you have a commercial use for it, and are willing to
pay for such an implementation under a consulting contract.
