[REBOL] rebol hosting and hidden cgis

From: jason::cunliffe::verizon::net at: 1-Oct-2002 21:34

[phew!! Nice to be on-line again after a 4 day nightmare - courtesy VerizonDSL who "accidentally" deleted my account early last Friday morning..] I just came across this: How to set-up REBOL CGI at By Michal Kracik <quote> Note that BSDI (unlike Linux) allows executing files which cannot be read. This way you can hide rebol itself from reading, if someone tries, he gets an error message 403 Forbidden. If the permissions were 755, the binary file would be sent to user's browser (probably as a mess of characters, because the web server does not know its proper MIME type). </quote> Nice feature when you want it! Olivier Auverlot's Magic! also completely hides the rebol source. I imageine a number of other REBOL server-side tools do too. It would be could to gather this up and send it to Ed for the Rebol mega-FAQ. Any suggestions? ./Jason
