Thanks. I see the problem. IE 5.5 seems to have an implied min-width for the
content
Div of around 600pixels. I'm stumped as to why, and how to fix it.

Thanks for all the checking, testing and suggestions. I want the site to work
well (if not perfectly) in any browser, so I'll be playing around with your
suggestions over the next few days....Which may mean things get worse before
